Grief recovery process is a simple method but it requires openness and courage.
PERSPECTIVE
Grief is a joy killer. It is a strong emotional response to a loss. Learning to recover from grief is an essential great life builder skill. What do we do when we sustain a deep wound with persistent bleeding? We go to the hospital and get the wound sutured to stop the bleeding. What do we do when we have a broken heart that continues to bleed? We intellectualize and think we can get over an emotional wound. This is a trap. Grief is emotional. It’s not intellectual and it’s not spiritual.
METHOD
- Write a letter to someone or something you had lost that caused a significant emotional loss using the format below. The format will serve as sutures to a heart that is broken and still bleeding (unresolved grief).
2. Then read the letter to a trusted friend or to God. It will be an emotional process. Find a place free of distractions. Caution to the listener: DO NOT INTERRUPT (no touch, no talk but okay to cry with)
ONLY LISTEN
DO NOT ANALYZE

DO NOT ANALYZE
This page allows a grieved person to respond emotionally without criticism or judgment. The cross of Jesus is about reconciliation. Forgive and ask for forgiveness. It’s an emotional process that heals a broken heart.
